Tuesday, June 1st is Hunger Awareness Day 2010 -- a day to bring attention to the issue of hunger in Canada and to encourage Canadians to take action to support those in need in their communities.
Food banks across the country mark the day by holding events, open houses and community activities to spread the word about the important work that they do in alleviating hunger.
As the national organization representing the food bank community across the country,
Food Banks Canada leads this initiative and will be holding a variety of events and activities in Toronto and Ottawa on June 1st.
